Collection: JENN JOHNSTON

Jenn Johnston is a ceramist, living on Bundjalung Country, in Mullumbimby, NSW, Australia. Johnston discovered her passion for clay after a career in health research and policy. Since the start of 2021 she has been potting full time. Working with clay has brought the artist joy, purpose, community, respite from chronic illness, and a new way of living.

Johnston's studio is nestled in her garden, where she creates elegant, functional and sculptural, hand crafted ceramics. Predominantly using slab building techniques and stoneware clay, Johnston focuses on making work that is refined, taking pride that each piece that leaves the studio is made with care and consideration.

The shapes and tones are influenced by the rich and abundant landscape of Johnston's home region, as well as her appreciation of Japanese aesthetics and mid-century modern design.
